Great review, useful. Not useful for me because I've been using Android phones for years, but if I was still using an iPhone this is the kind of review that would be valuable for me. And, if I may I add a little not humble humble brag, I used to run a couple websites (blog sites really) that were single focused on mobile tech - so I'm going to claim to know a thing or two about phone case reviews :)
Hi Patrick, That's good to know. Thank you. Especially nice to hear this was helpful given that I'm not a tech reviewer and this is the first phone case review I ever wrote. Given how well you write about Obsidian etc I can well believe your tech working background. Interesting about Android — would love to hear what you think. I was all set to switch to Android (Nexus days) until they came out with the Pixel and decided it should cost about the same as the iPhone. I just want the best photo and video camera I can afford that happens to also double as a phone. I don't even really want the phone post any more. It's just one of those things you have to have.
I have a little bit of dislike for you. Seeing how good this review is and now hearing it is your first time writing a phone case review is like every time I'm playing tennis and a player I've not played with before outplays me by miles and then says "I only started playing three days ago".
On the iPhone vs Android subject, I should note that I am not an Apple hater. I have used something like 5 generations in a row of their iMac PCs, and love them. The original iPhone was well worthy of the "gamechanger" cliche, and I used the first few models. Then I tried a Samsung Galaxy Note and the big screen and its overall specs and quality had me hooked almost right away.
From there I've spent a big numer of years using either a Galaxy Note (or the renamed Galaxy Ultra), a OnePlus phone because they used to have crazy great specs for around half the price of iPhones and Android flagship phones, and the Nexus and then Pixel lines, Recently the Nothing Phone 2 was the most compelling reason for me to go back and forth a little with the latest big screen top of the line models.
For what you want, and if you still have any curiousity about the Pixel phones, I think the A models offer great value and the Pixels are known for their oustanding cameras. Here's just one of many reviews that speak to how good a buy they are: https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/google-pixel-8a
PS. I appreciate the recommendation. I can well see an A model Pixel being the way I go if I jump ship from iPhone. Especially when they're that good and offer way better value for money. Thanks.
PPS. Forgive the multiple replies. But I keep thinking about what you said yesterday. If as someone who has done tech reviews etc you think I did a good job on a review. It nudges me towards something I keep considering. Namely trying my hand at it a bit. Probably with smaller brands who will work with someone starting out. Reviewing stuff that I need but can't afford (eg. to get started on podcasting or youtube). Use the stuff and over time trade up / sell off. Despite being an Apple sheep. Android and Linux are probably great. Etc.
Cool. I think reviews like these are / should be useful to quite a few people. There are tons of reviews of the priciest accessories like cases, not as many of cases and things that are less pricy but good value. Or that’s my impression anyway.
There are a number of big Android sites, but I think there’s still lots of room for good writing and reviews in that space. Linux maybe even more so.
At a glance on Amazon some of their cases for iPhone 15 are listed as supporting wireless charging, others specifically MagSafe. My case was iPhone 13 Mini and didn't support MagSafe but from what I learnt at the time all their cases going forward would be MagSafe compatible. I can't say about INIU specifically. But if the case on Amazon is listed as supporting wireless charging you should be fine. And I guess you could buy it, try it, and return it. Hope that helps. J
I still have an iPhone! I've just never bought a case for them. Admittedly, I should have, twice. My first iPhone was a 4si or something like that. I put a Doctor Who Tardis phone sticker on the glass back and when I dropped it, the glass underneath broke in multiple places but stayed together because of the sticker so I could keep using it for several more years. Magic! It was, afterall, bigger on the inside. I then upgraded to my current iPhone which I've only had for about 4 years. I wish I'd puchased protection for it, or at least a new sticker. Now, after several drops, I don't have a camera. Well the forward facing camera still works (my cats take selfies with it all the time) and there's a small crack on the front screen which doesn't interfere at all when I play Hay Day, but it is still okay for phone calls and texts. I do like the naked iPhone look. I'll update it soon, I pinky promise. And then, I'll come back to re-read your indepth post (on a new iPhone) and consider getting protection.

Oh, well two things now:

On this topic, thought this post might be a useful read: https://www.theverge.com/21420196/best-budget-smartphone-cheap
great, thanks, very helpful.
I have an iPhone 15. will these cases work with the INIU Wireless Charger? thank you.
Sorry, I don't know. You'd have to ask Surphy about that. You can contact them directly or through their Amazon store.
ok thanks

TARDIS phone case / sticker for the win!
